St William’s Catholic Primary School was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for baptised Catholic children.
By applying to this school parents, or carers, are declaring their support for the aims and ethos of the school.
The governing body has responsibility for admissions to the school and intends to admit 30 pupils to reception in the school year which begins in September 2023.
Do you have or know someone who has a child who was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021.

Oversubscription criteria
If the number of preferences received is less than the admission number then all preferences will be met.
At any time where there are more applications for places than the number of places available, places will be offered in the following order of priority:
- Catholic looked after Children and previously looked after Catholic children or looked after/previously looked after children from catholic families. (see notes 2 & 3 in the admission policy)
- Baptised Catholic children with a sibling(s) who attends St. William’s Catholic Primary School (see note 4)
- Baptised Catholic children who live in the defined area. (see note 5 in the admission policy )
- Other baptised Catholic children.
5. Other looked after and previously looked after children with a sibling who attends St. William’s Catholic Primary School. (see note 2 & 4 in the admission policy )
- Other looked after and previously looked after children. (see note 2 in the admission policy)
- Members of an Eastern Christian Church (see note 6 in the admission policy)

Families moving to the area or wishing to transfer to St. William's during the school year should complete the In Year application form found at the link below:

Fair Access Protocol (FAP)
All Local Authorities are required to operate a Fair Access Protocol (FAP) which ensures that school places are secured quickly for most vunerable children who are missing education and to ensure that all schools in an area admit their fair share of pupils with significant challenging behaviour. The protocol has been developed in line with DfE requirements as set out in the 2009 School Admissions Code and following consultation with the Admissions Forum and headteachers.

Appeals Process
You will be advised of the outcome or your application in writing, and you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel. Appeals should be made in writing to Clerk to Appeal Panel, St. William’s Catholic Primary School, Young Street, Bradford, BD8 9RG.

The Admissions Team process the annual allocations to reception and year seven, in-year applications and also the appeals procedure.
We offer advice to parents and other agencies regarding all admission and appeal related enquiries.
We also provide advice and guidance to schools concerning current and new legislation relating to admissions and ensure that the statutory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Admissions and Appeals Code of Practice.
